Manage Knowledge-Base Documents
Summary
Use the documents area inside a knowledge base to add source files, monitor ingestion, and keep document-backed guidance ready for live use.
Prerequisites
- You have access to
Knowledge Bases. - The knowledge base already exists.
- You have supported source files ready to upload.
Open document management
From the knowledge-base detail workspace, choose Manage Documents.
The documents view can include:

If the knowledge base has no files yet, you may see No documents yet. Upload your first document.
Upload documents
Choose Upload Documents and use the upload area:
Drag and drop files here, or click to browseAccepted: PDF, DOCX, MD, HTML, TXT
The upload form can also include:
Chunking StrategyExtraction StrategyCancelUpload
Review document details
After upload, open Document Details to review metadata such as:
Embedding ModelEmbedding DimensionsIngestion VersionLanguageCreatedUpdated
Use this view when you need to confirm that the document was processed the way you expected.
Monitor status and readiness
Use the document list to keep an eye on Chunk Count and the latest Updated time.
If a document shows Ingestion Error, the file is not ready to support guidance yet.
Retry a failed document
If ingestion fails, use Retry Ingestion from the document details or list view.
If the same file fails again, review the source document before retrying another time.
Expected outcome
You should have documents uploaded, ingested, and ready to support live guidance in the knowledge base you selected.
